LaTeX software application is used for typesetting. The final document file created using this software application is given the file format of DTX.

This file is used as ready for print or distribution. The user when documenting the file can change the element attributes that are added in the document file but once the file is documented the file extension of the file is changed to DTX. After converting the file format to DTX the file becomes non editable and all the elements along with the attributes are fixed. This allows the file to be printed by user in WYSIWYG style.
