GPI file is associated with Garmin devices. This file format is used to define point of interest for a specific region. Garmin devices are used for navigation and travelling.

The operating system installed in these devices allows the user to define their own point of interest places in the area. This file includes the information related to the position of the place on map and some other information related to that place. The file is then added to the system which updates the map of the Garmin device. The file can be generated by any third party POI loader and can be uploaded to the device.
