ODP file is known as Open Document Presentation. This file format is based on XML file structure.

This file format is used to make presentations which are structured according to XML specifications so that the document file can be accessed by any software which can open XML based documents. The file format is open and is set according to XML standards. If a new XML definition is introduced the file format would be then changed according to the new set of rules. The OPD file format can also contain binary data which allows lossless compression technique to reduce the size of file.
