TPS file format is used instead of original torrent file in number of cases. The main purpose of using this file is to hack into the computer system and reveal the downloader’s identity.

The file generally contains a virus of Trojan inside it. This file acts as in similar way as any other torrent file and the user can download the contents of the file as usual torrent file. Once the user opens the contents of the file the identity of the user is revealed by the virus downloaded as the file content. This technique can also be used to vandalize the computer.
