NMF file format is used by ArcGIS software application. This application is used to creating and then using maps.

The maps created can further be used for compiling the geographical data and analyzing the specific region. Once the map is created using this file the data of the complete area can be stored in one single file with file extension of NMF. This file can then be used by the ArcGIS Explorer for navigational purposes. NMF file contains the final resultant map after all the information and detail related to a specific area is added to the map of that area.
